The main window

When you first open it, the window splits into four main areas. Read them in this order: pick on the left, build in the middle, check at the top, refine on the right.

One event is one playlist. You can group playlists into folders.

  • Make one with New List at the bottom of the sidebar, and group them with New Folder
  • Once you have a lot of lists, folders make them easier to find
  • Right-click a list for Rename · Delete · Export bundle

A folder is a heading with its lists hanging off a rail beneath it. The number beside the name is how many lists are inside, so a folded folder still tells you what is in there.

Click a folder Opens it on the right. It does not fold
Click the ⌄, or double-click the row Folds and unfolds
Hover a folder A + appears — a new list straight into that folder
Drag a folder Reorders it. It folds while you drag and opens again when you drop it
Drag a list Onto a folder puts it in; between lists reorders

A red bar marks the list that is going out right now. The same bar shows on the section header on the right, so you can find it with the sidebar hidden.

Whatever the selected playlist holds is laid out in order. That order is the running order.

Six kinds of thing can go in.

Video mp4, mov and so on
Image jpg, png and so on
Text Subtitles and titles — you make these inside the app
YouTube Paste an address and it plays as it is
Web Opens a web page
Music Handled separately, in the music area below

Add them with Add File, or drag and drop them from the Finder. For YouTube, press Link and paste the address.

Drag slides to reorder them, and hold ⌘ while clicking to pick several at once.

Dragging inside the same list is always reordering. Drag to another playlist and the default is Copy; hold Option as you drop and it is Move (the badge on the dragged image tells you which one it will be).

One click on a slide’s thumbnail in the middle sends it out on the spot. Double-click the thumbnail and it goes out from the beginning again.

To look at a slide without sending it out, use Option + click, or click the name row under the card. It is loaded into Slide settings on the right only, and the audience screen stays as it was.

That is what Option + slide to load, printed next to the Slide settings heading, means.

The top bar handles Pause · Clear All (the red stop-shaped button) · Mute · Output. Which monitor it goes to is chosen in the field beside the monitor icon in the status bar at the bottom of the window (press it and the list of screens opens upward).

These are the values saved onto the one slide you selected. Set them once and that slide always goes out that way.

  • Scale — Fit · Fill · Stretch · Fit + blur bg
  • Cropping — the gear at the top right of the thumbnail opens the Crop & fit sheet, where you drag the edges in (Clear crop puts it back)
  • In point · Out point — trim the head and tail of a video (Clear In/Out removes both)
  • Playback speed · Slide volume

Made for working on one laptop. Narrow the window and things fold away in order, and the slide list keeps shrinking to fit — it is never hidden.

Width What you see

Two buttons sit in the title bar next to the traffic lights. The left one brings the playlist sidebar back; the right one brings Slide settings back. Each widens the window by just enough — they do not jump to some full size that rearranges everything.

The bottom bar gets out of the way as things tighten: the monitor name shortens and the feedback button drops to an envelope, so the card-size slider and settings never get pushed off the edge.

Background music runs separately from the slides. Moving to the next slide does not cut it.

  • You manage tracks in folders
  • Each track has a Start and an End you can set, so you can trim the talk-up at the front or the silence at the back
  • Music while video plays can lower it or mute it. When the video ends it comes back by itself

A slide does not go out as one sheet. It goes out in layers.

Overlay 1 ~ 5 subtitles · logos · titles (top)
Background video · images (bottom)

Each layer turns on and off on its own, and advances on its own. You leave the background video as it is and change only the subtitle. You can name each layer, so when you are in a hurry you look for “Logo” instead of a number.
