Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 August 2026
These terms cover the LayerCue app and the site at layercue.com, both made by CastPad in
Seoul. Using either of them means you accept what is written here.
LayerCue is in beta
Section titled “LayerCue is in beta”The app is unfinished on purpose. It may change, it may behave differently between versions, and it may fail during a show. Test it on the actual screen, with the actual files, before you rely on it in front of an audience. Keep a way to run the event without it.
While it is in beta, LayerCue is free. When it stops being free we will say so first, and a beta account will not silently become a paid one.
Your account
Section titled “Your account”You can use most of LayerCue without an account. Signing in — with Google — is required to open Settings.
- One account belongs to one person. Do not share sign-in details.
- Keep your Google account secure; anything done through a valid sign-in is treated as done by you.
- We can suspend or close an account that is used to attack the service, to break these terms, or to break the law.
- You can close your account at any time by writing to [email protected].
Your shows are yours
Section titled “Your shows are yours”Playlists, media, text and settings you create stay yours. They live on your computer; we take no licence over them and we cannot see them.
You are responsible for having the right to show what you show. If a video, image, font, or piece of music needs permission or a licence to be played in public, getting it is your job, not ours.
YouTube
Section titled “YouTube”LayerCue can play YouTube links and can download videos through yt-dlp. YouTube is Google’s
service and has its own terms. Using LayerCue does not grant you any right to a video that you
would not otherwise have, and you are responsible for using YouTube content within Google’s
terms and the law where you are.
YouTube features are not guaranteed to work. If YouTube changes how it works, they may change or stop without notice, and we do not promise to restore them. That on its own is not grounds for a refund. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
What we do not promise
Section titled “What we do not promise”LayerCue is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular event. To the extent the law allows, we exclude the implied warranties that would otherwise apply.
Limits on liability
Section titled “Limits on liability”To the extent the law allows, CastPad is not liable for lost profit, lost audience, lost opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using LayerCue — including a show that did not run. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us for LayerCue in the twelve months before the claim. During the beta, that amount is zero.
Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be removed by agreement.
Changes to these terms
Section titled “Changes to these terms”We may change these terms. If a change matters, we will note it on this page and move the date at the top. Continuing to use LayerCue after a change means you accept it. If you do not, stop using it and ask us to close your account.
Governing law
Section titled “Governing law”These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes go to the courts of Seoul, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them somewhere else.
